Description:

The Deputy Director of HHSA—Quality Management/ Compliance Officer is an executive level management position within the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and supervises the division staff, which currently includes two assistant managers, two QM specialists, two analysts and office support. The Deputy Director leads the activities of the Quality Management (QM) Division including planning and administrating division activities and developing and managing the division’s budgets. The division is responsible for the operation of a comprehensive quality management system across the agency. The division works collaboratively with staff in the various HHSA divisions to solve compliance problems, with the ultimate goal of regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement . The division also identifies and tracks performance indicators and uses the resulting information to contain risk, target community needs, improve outcomes and efficiencies, and develop and implement the agency’s strategic plan. The QM Division also conducts internal audits of key agency programs and activities to ensure regulatory compliance and to verify the effectiveness of quality assurance activities conducted with the divisions. This is an “at-will” classification.

Qualifications:

A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position is:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, organizational development, business administration, health administration or a related field.

Six years of increasingly responsible professional level experience in a compliance, organizational development, human resources, quality assurance, quality control, or fiscal program including four years of administrative and supervisory responsibility is highly preferred.
