As principal assistant to the Community Development Deputy Director, the Homeless and Community Services Manager administers the Public Services Grant Program, Continuum of Care programs, the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), and other related community partnership programs.

Additionally, the Homeless and Community Services Manager directs, plans, assigns, coordinates, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff engaged in project activities, and is responsible for ensuring the generation of high-quality work product of the team they manage.

Qualifications:

Ideal Homeless and Community Services Manager candidates will have proven experience:
•Assisting in the development and recommendation of policies for the operation of affordable housing, homeless services, and community development programs and projects.
•Administering programs funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, including preparation of required applications, plans, and reports.
•Negotiating terms and conditions for projects between non-profits, state, and federal agencies.
•Monitoring program expenditures for program compliance and assisting in the preparation of annual budget reports.
•Developing and monitoring data systems and analyzing data to improve program and system performance as well as for generating policy and program development recommendations.
•Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with County officials, officials of incorporated cities within Sonoma County, other agencies, and staff of various Sonoma County departments.
