Description:

The County of Sonoma Human Services Department (HSD) seeks a knowledgeable IT professional to fill one full-time HSD Information Technology Service Desk Specialist vacancy. This position works with a collaborative technical support team of four to provide technical end-user desktop support for over 1,000 employees, including tier I & II support related to MS Windows computer systems, hardware, software, and LAN/WAN functions.

Being an HSD Information Technology Service Desk Specialist Means:
• Supporting HSD users by troubleshooting and resolving problems within the interconnected software and hardware systems
• Communicating factual/procedural information and training HSD staff on software and related system changes
• Using industry standard best practices to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
The ideal candidate will possess:
• The ability to research, analyze, and evaluate data to make recommendations and take corrective action
• The ability to balance multiple, competing demands while responding to system users in a thorough, effective manner
• Diverse technical knowledge to facilitate troubleshooting and identifying root causes of technical issues
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to effectively work in teams and independently

Qualifications:

Qualifications for this position normally include the equivalent to completion of twelve semester or eighteen quarter units in information systems, computer science or closely related field; AND two years of experience in developing and maintaining information technology systems in a multi-platform information systems
