The City of Monterey is excited to announce the recruitment for a Human Resources Director. Monterey is a full-service city with approximately 440 full-time employees. The Human Resources Department has a staff of five employees and an operating budget of approximately $700 thousand and a $2.7 million workers’ compensation budget.

Qualifications:

The Human Resources Director is an Executive, at-will classification that plans, organizes and directs all phases of the City’s personnel and employee relations functions. Five years experience managing a public personnel program and the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
