Description:

Mariposa County, with a population of nearly 18,250 is located roughly in the center of California and on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The County has an area of 931,200 acres of which nearly half are publicly owned and occupied by Yosemite National Park, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Sierra and Stanislaus National Forests.

There are no incorporated cities in Mariposa County, and the community of Mariposa serves as the county seat. The County has over 350 employees and a total budget of nearly $100 million and is governed by a 5-member Board of Supervisors elected by district on a non-partisan basis. The Human Resources Director/Risk Manager reports directly to the Board of Supervisors.

The Director leads the department in providing an array of human resources services such recruitment, class and comp analysis, labor relations and negotiations, personnel policies, legal compliance as well as risk management functions and advising the Board. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Salary: $86,945.
