The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is currently recruiting for two full-time or part-time Human Resources Generalists. We are looking to fill the first position in December 2017 and the second position in February 2018.

The Human Resources Generalist position is a journey level position, requiring the frequent use of independent judgment, tact, discretion, and individual initiative. Incumbents perform difficult and complex tasks associated with benefit coordination; the preparation, processing and administration of recruitment and selection programs; workers’ compensation administration; employee relations; maintenance of personnel records; research, data compilation and analysis, and creating/updating policies and procedures.

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is an independent Special District in Contra Costa County responsible for providing a high level of emergency and non-emergency services to the communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, San Ramon, southern boundary of Morgan Territory, and the Tassajara Valley.

Qualifications:

Requirements: To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:

• Experience: Three years of experience in benefits, recruitment, HRIS, payroll integration, general Human Resources systems, employee relations, employee development, or policy development and interpretation. Related experience in public agency environment highly desirable.

• Education: Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Human Resources, Public Administration or related field.

• License: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

• Certification: None required. PHR/SPHR or CALPELRA CLRM Certificate preferred, along with other applicable Human Resources certifications,
