Description:

The City of South Lake Tahoe, population 21,500, lies within the Tahoe Basin approximately 160 miles northeast of San Francisco, 90 miles northeast of Sacramento, and 30 miles southwest of Reno. Lake Tahoe is a unique and beautiful national treasure which offers a plethora of year round activities offering residents the opportunity to live, explore and experience on a daily basis what brings over a million visitors a year to the Lake Tahoe region. The Human Resources Manager, a working manager, takes direction from and works closely with the City Manager and Assistant City Manager and is responsible for the following activities and functions: labor relations, workers’ compensation (self-insured), risk management, recruitment and selection, training and development, discipline, classification and compensation adjustments, and benefits administration. She/he will also serve on the Senior Management team providing advice and counsel regarding strategic policy and problem solving for the organization.

Qualifications:

Superior leadership, collaboration, and team building skills are necessary to be successful in this position. Bachelor’s degree required, experience in interest-based negotiations desired.
