Description:

The County of Santa Barbara has a current vacancy in Santa Barbara for the Public Works Department. Department is seeking a practiced Human Resources Manager with experience working in the public sector, a municipality or special district with experience working with operational and professional employees; experience working with unions and interpreting and applying memorandum of understanding, policies and procedures and Civil Service Rules with knowledge of disciplinary process in unionized environments; and experience with training, development and recruiting.

The Department is comprised of five Divisions: Administration, Resource Recovery & Waste Management, Surveyor’s Office, Transportation, and Water Resources.

Qualifications:

1. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and five (5) years of HR professional experience delivering a broad range of Human Resources services; Or,
2. A combination of education, experience and training that equals the qualifications mentioned above; And,
3. Demonstration of the following leadership competencies:
