Description:

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Manager in the Human Resources and Organizational Services Department. The Human Resources Manager administers the County’s comprehensive risk management program including safety, liability, workers’ compensation, ADA/FEHA compliance, and employee relations.
Under general direction, the incumbent will manage, supervise, plan and organize the day-to-day activities of any human resources related assignments; assist the Human Resources Director in providing County-wide comprehensive benefits, risk management and insurance programs, workers’ compensation, safety programs and organizational development. This position is characterized by a substantial amount of management, administrative and supervisory functions of a departmental unit. The incumbent will exercise considerable independent judgment and responsibility in developing and implementing program objectives within a broad framework of general policy, and may act on behalf of the Human Resources Director in his/her absence.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human resources, public or business administration or a closely related field and five years of progressively responsible professional level experience in human resources administration and risk management which has included two years of project/program management and development. Candidates with strong experience who lack the degree are encouraged to apply.

Preferred: In addition to the minimum, additional years of progressively responsible professional level work in human resources administration and/or possession of a valid SPHR/PHR, ARM, ARM-P, CSP, SHRM-CP and/or PMP certification(s).
