Human Resources/Risk Management Director
City of Poway, CA

One of the safest cities in California, Poway (pop. approximately 50,000) is a family-friendly community located in the center of San Diego County. This city offers both rural and cosmopolitan amenities and distinguishes itself as the “City in the Country” while maintaining the feel of a traditional American hometown. Poway is supported by 221 full-time employees and a total operating budget of $83 million. The new Human Resources/Risk Department will be responsible for all of the organization’s human resources and risk management activities.

The ideal candidate will be a confident leader and effective business partner with a passion for human resources. He/she will be a strategic thinker and adept problem solver. Experience working with labor groups and advancing large- scale initiatives forward will be expected. Ten years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience in human resources and a Bachelor’s degree are required.
