Contra Costa County is recruiting to establish an employment list in the classification of Information Systems Manager I to fill one (1) vacancy in the Department of Conservation and Development. This position will be located in Martinez.

The Information Systems Manager I performs a full range of information system duties involving installation, configuration, and maintenance of application software, server environments, hardware, and network infrastructures. Incumbents will perform the most difficult and responsible type of duties including maintaining multiple large, complex County systems; providing training, and technical expertise to other information systems staff; performing systems analysis and security duties; and creating disaster recovery plans and procedures. Incumbents at this level must be fully trained in all procedures related to their assigned areas of responsibility. This classification is responsible for managing projects and providing leadership and direction to other information systems staff.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer information systems, business administration, public administration, or closely related field.

Substitution for Academic Major: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.

Substitution for Education: Professional technology certification of: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), MCITP – Enterprise Administrator/Server Administrator, MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), CCA (Cisco Certified Architect), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) , CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), JNCIP/E-ENT – (Juniper Network Certified Professional/Expert Enterprise Routing and switching) can be substituted for a maximum of two (2) years. Each certification is worth 6 months of education.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent experience performing information systems duties, one (1) year of which must have included supervisory and/or administrative responsibility in an automated information systems area for a medium to large size computer support facility.
