Description:

The San Mateo County Tax Collector’s Office is seeking a professional, enthusiastic and analytically strong Information Technology Manager.

The Information Technology Manager will have a number of critical short and long-term challenges to address, including:
• Vendor relationship manager for the department-wide Property Tax System
• Analyzing current legacy tax system (AS400) and deploying new system (TaxSys)
• Planning the deployment of new phases of property tax system modules
• Designing, planning and coordinating the deployment of paperless and file-less system integrations with other tax systems
• Working with property tax partners to integrate the tax data from existing systems into the new property tax system, allowing the department to share data with local, state and federal partners
• Overseeing multiple systems while they exchange data with our new property tax system. Examples of these new county data sharing partners are the Controller’s Office and the Assessor’s Office.
• Collaborating on many County-wide IT initiatives
• Negotiating MOU’s with outside partners and ensuring data collection, sharing and reporting are occurring efficiently and effectively as it relates to the tax system

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include three years of management, technical, analytical or administrative experience that involved the design and implementation of data processing principles and techniques and knowledge of: advanced principles and practices of computer systems management, analysis, design and maintenance; advanced techniques and methods of system evaluation, implementation and documentation; advanced information technology management techniques and long range planning; current research and trends of new computer-related technologies; principles and practices of project management; and various software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, SQL database, database management and reporting tools.
