$25.52 – $30.39 Hourly, $2,041.60 – $2,431.20 Biweekly, $4,423.47 – $5,267.60 Monthly, $53,081.60 – $63,211.20 Annually

Description:

The list established by this recruitment will be used to fill current and future positions.

Under the supervision of a Supervising Investigator, the Investigative Technician performs non-sworn investigative technical support for attorneys and investigators; collects and preserves evidence; serves subpoenas, summons and other legal documents; prepares trial exhibits by recreating crime scenes, designing and producing charts and maps, manipulating photographs, and other media.  This position may provide support in the area of custodial and parental law or be called upon to assist with investigations related to consumer fraud. Investigative Technicians may arrange for and assist with transporting witnesses to/from court; maintenance of case records; and preparing reports.  This position may also be responsible for logging evidence and maintaining the DA’s evidence locker, as well as providing technical support through videography, photography, computer set-up, presentation equipment maintenance and operation of computer programs related to courtroom and office presentations. Investigative Technicians may meet with prosecutors to assist with preparing diagrams and presentations for court.

Bilingual (Spanish) skills are highly desired.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities.  A desirable combination is:

Experience:
 
Three years of progressively responsible customer service and related technical experience in working with the public to gather, provide, or present information.
 
Education:
 
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Completion of two years of college in a related field is highly desired.
 
License or Certificate
 
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
 
Possession of (or ability to obtain within one year) valid first aid and CPR certificates.
