Description:

The County of Orange, County Executive Office, Legislative Affairs has an opportunity for a proactive, results-oriented manager with in-depth government, legislative, public affairs and inter-agency coordination experience. As the lead manager of CEO-LA, the director will play a vital role in ensuring that the priorities of the Board of Supervisors are advanced through various strategies including legislative advocacy, regulatory reform and administrative initiatives. The team will work collaboratively, managing contract lobbyists and using their resources to support advocacy efforts of the individual County departments and agencies as well as the Board of Supervisors.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and will have substantial experience related to California State Legislative processes and solutions; developing strategic advocacy programs, analyzing legislation and budget proposals while considering potential impact on the programs and resources in an organization; recognizing and acting upon opportunities to build strong partnerships; consistently demonstrating strategic thinking and being politically astute when communicating legislative matters both orally and in writing. A Master’s Degree as well as direct California state and local legislative advocacy experience is preferred.
