Description:

The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) is recruiting for a Legislative Analyst position for its Sacramento office. The Legislative Analyst is responsible for tracking and analyzing legislative and budget proposals; drafting language for proposed bill amendments; preparing research documents; preparing agendas for and participating as a resource in policy committee meetings; and, writing letters, reports and articles concerning proposed legislation and the state budget.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would possess experience and knowledge in legislative research; county government functions and operations, the legislative process and its relationship to county government; budgeting principles; applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes. Superior business writing skills also are highly desirable.

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in political science, public administration or related field and three years of experience working with the State Legislature or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
