Description:

Riverside LAFCO is currently recruiting for a Local Government Analyst II/III. Positions in these classes report to the Executive Officer of LAFCO and are responsible for performing complex and sensitive professional data research, compilation, and review duties in support of the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). These include analysis of complex proposals for local agency boundary changes and comprehensive studies related to the provision of local governmental services; based on analysis, to present summarized information and recommendations to the Executive Officer of LAFCO and the Commission and to perform other duties as required.

Competitive candidates will possess extensive experience in analysis of local government service provision and be familiar with land use planning activities. In addition to possessing a familiarity with CKH, competitive candidates will also be familiar the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and land use planning laws and their applicability to LAFCO processes. Candidates with experience in public finance and budget analysis, and water resource planning and analysis are highly desired.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, planning, urban studies, or a related field

AND

At least two years of experience in policy or legislative analysis, urban/land use planning, economic or community development, public finance, engineering, or infrastructure analysis.
