Description:

Riverside Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) is currently recruiting for a Local Government Analyst at either the II (journey-level) or III (advanced journey-level). The position will be responsible for performing research, compilation, and review of complex and sensitive data in support of the Commission activities, including presenting recommendations and summarized information to the Executive Officer of LAFCO and the Commission based on an analysis of complex proposals for boundary changes, and comprehensive studies related to the provision of local government services.

Competitive candidates will have experience in planning/land use, and experience working under the guidelines of Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg (CKH) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and its application to land use and LAFCO processes. Candidates with experience analyzing the budgetary and financial impact of service changes are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of experience in policy or legislative analysis, urban/land use planning, economic or community development, public finance, engineering, or infrastructure analysis AND a bachelor’s degree in public/business administration, planning/urban studies, or a related field.
