Description:

The County of Nevada, California, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, seeks a Management Analyst I/II/Senior. The Management Analyst position in the County Executive Office services as a key member of the CEO team as a resource to supporting departments, the Board of Supervisors and the County Executive Officer to meet countywide and departmental objectives. The position deals with sensitive policy issues that require a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity. This is a key position in completing the budget process including planning, budget and fiscal analysis, and budget adoption. The position will maintain ongoing duties as a liaison with county departments and agencies to assist and advise on board of supervisor’s agenda items, projects requiring overall county coordination, and budget and fiscal matters. This position will be assigned special projects that have importance to overall operations, finances, and citizenry of the county.

One position within the three class levels within the Management Analyst series will be hired (either Management Analyst I or Management Analyst II, or Senior Management Analyst). The class levels differ in required levels of job knowledge, experience, independence and judgment. Applicants must apply for all class levels separately to be considered for that job class. Requirements:

Minimum requirements: (I) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in business or public administration, political science, industrial relations or a related field; and one year of professional analytical and/or management experience in an area to which the incumbent is assigned; or an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university, within one year of hire; and four years of professional analytical and/or management experience in an area to which the incumbent is assigned. (II) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in business or public administration, political science, industrial relations or a related field; with two years of professional analytical and/or management experience in an area to which the incumbent is assigned at a level equivalent to Nevada County’s Management Analyst I classification. (Senior) Similar to above, with two years of responsible professional analytical and/or management experience performing duties in an area to which the incumbent is assigned at a level equivalent to the Nevada County Management Analyst II classification. A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience at the Senior level only.
