Qualifications:

The Mental Health Service Manager organizes, directs and supervises the activities of one or more mental health clinics to serve a population group within the County; assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures related to clinic operations; provides staff support to higher level management within the assigned division; serves as a member of the department’s management/supervisory team.

This class is characterized by the responsibility for the ongoing management responsibility over one or more mental health clinics. This class is distinguished from the classification of Mental Health Services Manager (Senior) in that the latter oversees more complex programs, has responsibility for county-wide programs and oversees programs that have considerable impact.

Position Requirements
Education and experience:

Three years of increasingly responsible experience in a Mental Health program of which one year was in a supervisory capacity.

AND

A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology, Social Work or a related field.

Special Requirements

Depending upon assignment, incumbents in this class may be required to possess a valid licensed Marriage Family Therapist (MFT) license as issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license or a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver’s license may be required.
