Description:

There is one full-time vacancy available in Mental Health & Substance Use Services. Candidate coordinates and implements the authorization and utilization management program, the use of resources and services of client care and, under the direction of the Quality Manager, participates in quality management, quality improvement and performance improvement activities. In addition, this position provides education and technical and consultative services to staff and agencies ensuring program effectiveness and continuous improvement of care and services provided. The UM Coordinator may supervise staff.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge and/or experience working with behavioral health and quality improvement regulatory requirements and data reporting related to utilization of services. They will have experience identifying, creating, implementing and/or measuring performance improvement activities. They will be highly organized, dependable, accurate and able to work independently, and will have experience supervising or leading administrative staff. The person must be competent working with computers, be proficient in developing and maintaining systems to track detailed information, have excellent communication and good judgment and decision making skills, and be able to build strong working relationships within the organization and the community.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills listed in the class specification. Typically, equivalent to either possession of a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited college or a Master’s degree from an accredited school in psychiatric nursing, psychology counseling, social work or a closely related field, or a doctorate of psychology, and experience equivalent to three years of work in community or social planning in a health and human service agency which included responsibility for program planning, monitoring and evaluation that demonstrates the possession of the required knowledge and abilities.

Possession of a valid professional license issued by the State of California in one of the following is required: Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Nurse.
