Description:

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of:
• Trauma Informed Care
• Clinical practices with children/youth and families
• Educationally Related Social Emotional Supports and Services and IEP teams
• Principles, procedures and techniques of supervision, program development, evaluation and administration
• California laws, rules and regulations pertaining to mental health and substance abuse programs
• Pathways to Mental Health Services Core Practice Model Guide
• Medi-Cal documentation and community partnerships
• Cultural competency, resiliency and strength based interventions
Candidates will be expected to have the ability to:
• Balance a range of clinical services from clinic based, community-based and contracted services
• Work closely with other program supervisors regarding shared staffing
• Develop and manage a multi-disciplinary treatment program
• Supervise treatment staff
• Speak and write effectively

Minimum Qualifications:
Pursuant to the California Welfare and Institutions Code:

Psychiatrist: A psychiatrist shall have a license as a physician and surgeon in this state and show evidence of having completed two years graduate training in psychiatry in a program approved by the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association.

Psychologist: A psychologist shall have obtained a license granted by the California State Board of Medical Examiners and shall have two years of post-licensure experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.

Social Worker: A social worker shall have a California license as a clinical social worker (LCSW) granted by the California State Board of Behavioral Science and shall have two years of post-licensure experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor: A professional clinical counselor shall have obtained a license as a professional clinical counselor (LPCC) granted by the California State Board of Behavioral Science and two years of post-licensure experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.

Nurse: A nurse shall be licensed to practice as a registered nurse by the Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration in the State of California and possess a master’s degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing and two years of post-licensure nursing experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting. 

Licensed Psychiatric Technician: A psychiatric technician shall be licensed to practice as a psychiatric technician by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners and have six years of post-licensure experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting. College or university education in a mental health related field may be substituted for up to four years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
