(I) $20.77-$25.23 /hr. (II) $23.64-$28.75 /hr.

Description:

Calaveras County is recruiting for two Planners.   Positions in this classification work directly for the Planning Director and are typically responsible for conducting planning studies, developing reports, interpreting and enforcing zoning regulations, and making land use recommendations. 

Planner I:  This is the entry level position in the classification series. The Planner I position is expected to work under close supervision and will be trained to handle a variety of related duties.

Planner II:  This is journey or fully qualified position in the series. The Planner II position is expected to work under general supervision and is assigned more advanced work than the Planner I.

Qualifications:

Planner I:  Equivalent to two years of college course work with a major in planning, land use or a related field OR two years’ experience in public or private agency land use work.

Planner II: Equivalent to a two years of college course work in planning, land use or related field and two years of public or private agency land use work OR valid license as a surveyor with two years of public or private agency land use experience. A four year college degree in a related field (baccalaureate) can be substituted for up to one year of the required experience: a master’s degree can be substituted for one additional year of the required experience.
