In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire County budget, including operations and activities related to the County-wide annual budget preparation process. As the Principal Administrative Analyst in the County’s Administrative Office, you will be exposed to and participate in decision making processes that affect all of the County’s operations and therefore County residents. The Principal Analyst is regularly called upon to lead various committees and participate on task forces that cover the full spectrum of County activities. Recent examples of committees that the Principal Analyst might have participated on include drought, homelessness, fracking, and tourism.
As the acting budget director, you will serve as a liaison between County personnel and outside agencies and provide consultation and technical assistance to them regarding issues concerning organizational and departmental effectiveness. Additionally, this position will play a critical role in assessing and recommending implementation of a new budget system.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years experience with local and government budget processes and possess a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration. Knowledge of advanced budgeting practices and the ability to effectively collect, analyze, interpret, and report data is a must. Strong organizational skills are desired, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Previous project management experience with implementing budget or financial systems is desired, but not required.
