Description:

The County of Riverside Human Resources Department has an opportunity for two Principal Employee & Labor Relations Specialists. One position will serve as a subject matter expert in the area of labor relations and one position will oversee employee relations. The labor position will play a key role in the collective bargaining negotiation process, which includes six unions, and will necessitate that the incumbent navigate complex issues with stakeholders. The second position supporting employee relations will deliver direct guidance in the areas of employee discipline/investigations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, Fitness for Duty Evaluations, and Title VII evaluation/response.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited university with a Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, behavioral or social sciences, industrial relations, organizational studies, public or business administration, or a closely related field.

AND

Experience: Four years of professional, journey-level experience with responsibility for conducting job analysis, recruitment and selection, employment test construction, position classification, compensation analysis, employee or labor relations, organizational development, training, benefits, or other human resources functions that demonstrate acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. (Completion of a graduate degree from an accredited university may substitute for up to one year of the experience.)
