Description:

The County of Nevada, California, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, seeks a Program

Manager – Housing Resources. This Program Manager position reports directly to the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Director and functions as the County’s Housing Resources Manager. Successful applicants are expected to possess     knowledge, skills and abilities related to homelessness and affordable housing.  Familiarity with funding opportunities originating from HUD, MHSA, HCD, CSBG, CDBG ESG, and FESG is beneficial. The staff person will represent the County on the Nevada County Continuum of Care and the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras. The Manager will be the single point of contact and liaison with several community based organizations such as Hospitality House, Project Mana, DVSAC, Sierra Roots, and the Salvation Army. Additionally, this position will coordinate housing services provided by a variety of HHSA programs; including CalWORKS HSP, Behavioral Health Supported Permanent Housing, and Housing and Community Services programs. 

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental health, a physical science, business, social services,  sociology, psychology, or field related to one of the previously mentioned, and three years of experience in the program field at the advanced journey level, preferably in a community-based organization involving program development; OR a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental health, a physical science, public health, health services administration, business or public administration, social sciences, psychology, counseling, social work or field related to one of the previously mentioned, or as required for any required licensure, certification, or registration, and two years of experience in the program area at the advanced journey level, preferably in a community-based organization involving program development.
