Description:

Join the Disaster Services Bureau where you can contribute to the state’s efforts to serve, aid and protect individuals and families affected by disasters and emergencies by providing response and recovery services. 

Qualifications:

Knowledge of planning and response activities of the California Mass Care and Shelter Program (Emergency Function 6), the Emergency Repatriation Program and the State Supplemental Grant Program is necessary. Experience in emergency management, catastrophic planning and shelter response activities at the state level related to mass care and shelter is desirable.

Eligible candidates who are current state employees with status in the above classification, lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class and persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. Applicants must submit a standard State Application Form (Std. 678) with original signature and clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility. Appointment is subject to SROA and state surplus policies. Surplus candidates must submit a copy of their surplus status letter.
