Description:

Tuolumne County seeks a Public Health Officer with passion, experience, talent and dedication to serving our community. The Health Officer (HO) is the face of Public Health in the County and is responsible for public health policy development and community health planning. This position plays a strategic and critical role in collaborating with emergency management departments and professionals, community health providers, foundations, committees, community-based organizations, and the community-at-large to set local priorities.

Qualifications:

• Be a graduate from a recognized medical school approved by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association with a degree of M.D.
• Possess a valid Physician’s and Surgeon’s license issued by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance of the State of California; out of state licensed physicians must be willing and able to obtain licensure in the State of California.
• Demonstrate familiarity with the broad range of specific public health programs in California.
• Possess a California driver’s license upon date of hire, and have a satisfactory driving record.
• Be able to attend meetings outside of normal working hours and must work on-call to respond to emergency situations during weekends, holidays, and other off-hour shifts.
