Monthly salary range: $8,977 – $10,911 DOQ

Description:

Nestled in the northern Sacramento Valley, Tehama County and the County seat of Red Bluff lie approximately midway between Sacramento and the Oregon border. The County’s affordable housing costs and family-friendly environment make it an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family.

Under the administrative direction of the Chief Administrator and Board of Supervisors, the Public Works Director directs and supervises the administrative, planning, engineering and operations functions of the County’s Department of Public Works; serves as Road Commissioner, County Surveyor, County Engineer, Executive Director of Tehama County Sanitation District No. 1, and Executive Director of the Flood Control and Water Conservation District. The Department is supported by 68 staff and a FY 1617 budget of $15.3 million and a CIP budget of $17 million.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will be proactive and committed servant-leaders eager to make substantial contributions to an already well-run department. Seasoned professionals who bring outstanding leadership/management abilities and possess broad experience in all areas of public works are sought. In addition, candidates should have a working knowledge of technology; a proven track record of visionary thinking; a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with numerous external stakeholders; and, high-level communication skills. Registration as a California Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor are required.
