Salary:

$105,185.60-$127,857.60 annually with license, $90,563.20-$110,073.60 annually without license

Description:

Under the administrative direction of the Chief Administrator and/or Board of Supervisors, directs and supervises the administrative, engineering and operations functions of the County’s Department of Public Works. The Public Works Agency, combines several inter-related functions under centralized administration. These functions include, but are not limited to, transportation/transit, solid waste, flood control, airports, roads, bridges, surveyor, engineer, fleet service center, county facilities special districts and public works. Receives policy direction from the Chief Administrator and/or Board of Supervisors; through subordinate management and supervisory staff, provides general direction, guidance and direct supervision, as necessary, to accomplish the goals of the Agency, exercises administrative direction over the managers, professional, technical and clerical staff within the Agency.

Qualifications:

Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Five (5) years of experience in Public Works, Engineering, Construction or other related field with three (3) years in the supervisory capacity.

Registration as a Civil Engineer and or Land Surveyor issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers is preferred for this position.
