Description:

Seeking a Retirement Investment Analyst to perform basic duties in the day-to-day functioning of the investment program. This position will report to the Chief Investment Officer and works alongside an incumbent Retirement Investment Analyst. Responsibilities include serving as primary contact for investment managers, the plan’s custodial bank and other related service providers; providing administrative oversight of the asset managers; overseeing the due diligence process of existing managers; overseeing the semi-annual compliance certification statement process; responding to external surveys and public record requests; monitoring account holdings for compliance with investment policy and guidelines; assisting in performing basic analyses for SamCERA including portfolio manager’s performance attributions and styles; and researching and making recommendations regarding investment policies/procedures, portfolio performance, asset classes, asset allocation or other related topics.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Investment, Finance, Economics or Accounting and 1 year of analytical accounting experience in a financial institution. The ideal candidate will have strong written/verbal communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage relationships with service providers, knowledge of finance and investments and a solid understanding of how capital markets function. A Master’s degree in Financial, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field based on a two-year curriculum may substitute for two years of experience.
