The City of Santa Rosa is seeking qualified applicants for the
position of Risk Management Analyst to join the Risk Management
Division of the Human Resources Department.
Depending on area of assignment, Risk Management Analysts may
coordinate and oversee workers’ compensation, return to work,
long term disability, ADA Title II and III, safety, public
liability and casualty claims programs, and perform professional
analytical support and consulting services to City departments
for these and other risk management programs for a diverse
municipal organization of 1,300 employees.

Qualifications:
Essential Duties:
The following duties are considered essential for this job
classification:
•Understand, interpret and apply city, state, and federal laws,
rules and regulations pertaining to employee safety, workers’
compensation, leave and disability, ADA, public liability and
insurance;
•perform audits and analysis of departmental losses and
trends;
•work with contracted service providers and outside agencies to
ensure effective and timely claims management;
•prepare studies and implementation reports;
•prepare agenda items for the City Council;
•analyze data, prepare reports and make recommendations;
•counsel employees, managers, supervisors, outside agencies and
the public on risk management subject areas;
•coordinate and participate in special projects or programs as
assigned;
•convene and facilitate interactive interviews;
•participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of
new or revised risk management policies or programs.
For positions assigned to administration of workers’ compensation
programs:
•Coordinate the City’s Workers’ Compensation Program;
•serve as liaison between Risk Management, City departments and
third party administrator;
•coordinate the processing of required workers’ compensation
documents to third party administrator;
•coordinate Return-to-Work and Light Duty Programs;
•coordinate disability management for employees;
•provide technical support and guidance to employees and
department representatives in evaluating reasonable accommodation
requests in accordance with the ADA;
•conduct interactive interviews;
•work with Benefits Technician to ensure all potential benefits
are applied for and available for employees unable to return to
work;
•contact all levels of City personnel, public agencies, insurance
adjusters, attorneys and claimants to obtain and provide
information necessary in order to resolve workers’ compensation
and participate in dispute resolutions;
•and keep Risk Manager advised of unusual circumstances
