Under general direction, to manage a major operating division of the Department of Public Works; to plan, implement, and carry out the Department’s road maintenance program; to supervise; to direct, through subordinate supervisors, the work of a large staff engaged in a wide variety of road maintenance and road repair activities; and to perform related work as required.
This is a single incumbent full management level position with overall responsibility for the County’s road maintenance program. The incumbent is accountable for accomplishing divisional goals and objectives, and for furthering departmental and County goals and objectives within general policy guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, construction management, public or business administration or closely related field. Five years of increasingly responsible experience in road maintenance and construction, including two years of managerial responsibility. Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
