Salary:

$4,368 – $4,805 Monthly – Hiring Range w/Merit Based System

Description:

Under general direction the Senior Account-Auditor organizes, assigns, and reviews the work of assigned personnel engaged in the performance of professional accounting and auditing duties. This individual performs duties requiring specialized knowledge, provides administrative support to assigned supervisor and oversees the preparation of the County tax rolls. Other responsibilities include apportioning property tax revenues and producing revenue projects, preparing and maintaining a variety of complex accounting records and other duties as assigned. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have strong auditing principles and techniques, thorough organizational methods, the ability to schedule and execute tasks effectively, reason and analyze logical steps, have a high attention to detail, and establish and maintain successful working relationships both within the division and the department as a whole. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.

Required Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field and three years of experience at a level equivalent to the County’s classification of Accountant-Auditor II.
(Accountant-Auditor II Minimum: A Bachelor’s Degree as outlined above in addition to one year of experience at a level to the County’s classification of Accountant-Auditor I)
Preferred: In addition to the minimum qualifications, experience in a public agency setting.
Special Requirements: Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which includes Live Scan fingerprinting and credit check prior to hire. Certain positions may be required to file statements of economic interest with the Yuba County Clerk/Recorder.
