Description:

The Senior Building Inspector works closely with Planning, Building, and Fire Protection to ensure a smooth and consistent building permit plan check process and efficient implementation of building inspection services. Under the direction of the Building Official, the Senior Building Inspector may supervise and direct the Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer, Building Counter Technician, and administrative staff.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate shall have at least 10 years of experience in the industry and a minimum of two years supervisory experience. They should possess expert knowledge of the ICC and ideally possess ICC Certification as a Residential Building Inspector; an associate’s degree or higher in a related field is preferred. Further, the ideal candidate shall possess or have the ability to obtain certification as a Plans Examiner within 12 months of hire. The position requires excellent attention to detail, superior customer service skills, and a sense of humor. CASp or other additional ICC certifications are a plus.
