$19.56 – $27.25 Hourly; $1,564.80 – $2,180.00 Biweekly; $3,390.40 – $4,723.33 Monthly

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and highly skilled equipment operator with the ability to effectively assist in
organizing and coordinating day-to-day maintenance activities and motivate, train and develop subordinate team
members. The ideal candidate will also be able to foster an environment of team work and develop productive work
relationships with superiors, peers and subordinates, as well as the public.

 

Examples of Duties:


-Operates, within close tolerances, large, heavy construction or maintenance equipment such as bulldozers,
graders, spreaders and transports; operates, as assigned, less complex equipment such as dump trucks, water trucks, backhoes, loaders, tractors, mowers and rollers.
-Cuts, fills, levels, grades, mixes, and compacts subgrade and finished surfaces; loads and moves materials;
patches, oils and seals road surfaces.
-Performs skilled work in the removal and installation of a variety of public works structures, including culverts,
various drainage structures, down drains, catch basins, fences and guardrails.
-Sets up temporary traffic control zones; flags traffic, drives a pilot vehicle; sets up barricades.
-Trains subordinate crew members in the operation and maintenance of tools, equipment and vehicles while on
various job sites.
-Acts as lead worker of a crew; as assigned, assists to plan and coordinate maintenance projects; may provide
input related to assignment of work to individual workers and performance evaluations.
-Performs operator’s maintenance and service on equipment.
-Operates large semi-truck and trailer units in hauling materials or equipment.

Qualifications:

Examples of Experience/Education/Training:

Any combination of training, education and/or experience for the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform theduties list above is qualifying. An example of a way these requirements might be acquired is:

Three (3) years experience performing skilled work in the maintenance and/or construction of roads and related structures which included the operation of heavy, complex road construction equipment.
