Description:

OC Public Works provides services on a regional basis to unincorporated areas, to cities, and to other County agencies and departments. The primary mission of the department is to protect and enrich the community through efficient delivery and maintenance of public works infrastructure, planning, and development services. We are currently seeking experienced professionals for Service Area Deputy Director vacancies within the following service areas: OC Infrastructure Programs, OC Construction, Operations & Maintenance, OC Facilities Design & Construction Management and Architectural & Engineering Project Management Division.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates would typically possess Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, public administration, public policy, management or business (or a closely related field).

Candidates must be capable of working effectively and communicating diplomatically with various government offices, County staff at all levels, labor organizations, residents, citizens and business groups, regulatory bodies, as well as developers and contractors. Extensive management experience is required.

Possession of a valid license as a Civil Engineer or Land Surveyors issued by the California State Board for Professional Engineer, Land Surveyors, and Geologist or Project Management Certification.
