Description:

The County of Sonoma, Human Services Department, Family, Youth, and Children’s Services Division is recruiting to fill one full-time, fluent bilingual (English & Spanish) Social Service Worker IV vacancy. In order to be considered for bilingual assignments, applicants must indicate their skill level on their application and in their response to the required supplemental questionnaire. A bilingual examination will be conducted prior to employment to confirm level of skill. Bilingual premium pay is an additional $1.15 cents per hour on top of the hourly pay rate.

Family, Youth, and Children (FYC) Social Service Worker (SSW) IV’s provide an array of protective, regulatory, preventative, and placement services, and are responsible for responding to reports of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment by phone, field visit, and/or after hours, on a rotating basis. Working closely with families and children to investigate allegations of abuse and/or neglect and assess client and family strengths and needs, FYC SSW IV’s develop and monitor parents’ compliance with treatment case plans, utilize social work skills and techniques to motivate individuals and families toward change, work closely with service providers, and maintain electronic and manual case records.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Master’s degree, a college degree plus five years experience, or coursework plus six years experience.
