Description:

Solano County is seeking an experienced public service professional to serve as the Social Services Manager in the Child Welfare Services Division.

Social Services Managers organize, direct and supervise the activities of one or more social services programs to serve a population group within the Child Welfare Services Division; assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures related to program activities; provides staff support to higher level management within the assigned division; serves as a member of the department’s management/supervisory team.

The successful candidate for this position must demonstrate strong leadership skills, flexibility, creativity and the ability to work effectively to foster positive and harmonious working relationships, and experience working with a diverse staff and community groups.

The ideal candidate will have directly supervised a Child Welfare Social Services program while exhibiting:

Qualifications:

Experience:
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in a social services program of which one year was in a supervisory capacity.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited college or university preferably with a major in Social Work or a related field.
