Description:

The County of Sonoma Human Services Department is recruiting for one full-time Supervising Accountant position to oversee the Accounting & Reporting Division of the Fiscal Operations Unit. Working with a staff of 19 employees, the Supervising Accountant is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing accounting and auditing staff work; maintaining, enhancing, and coordinating updates to the department’s Finance & Accounting policies and procedures; and ensuring accurate and effect performance of accounting and auditing duties.

Directly reporting to the Departmental Accounting Manager, the Supervising Accountant participates in the design and implementation of fiscal procedures; develops and reviews audit programs, reports, and internal controls; provides training in accounting and auditing; and supervises the units professional, technical, and clerical staff.
