Description:

The Human Services Department (HSD) seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time Supervising Children’s Residential Care Counselor position. As a first line supervisor, this position will support the Family, Youth, and Children (FYC) Division’s New Foster Care Options Program at the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home (VMCH). This position assists improved communications with county staff and external partners, ensures consistency in best practices, and acts as a liaison to support timely placements of children out of VMCH.

Qualifications:

Qualifications for this position normally include sixty semester units at an accredited college with at least nine semester units in child development, sociology, behavioral and social psychology, social casework, social welfare, counseling and guidance, child psychology or a closely related field in behavioral science (two years of FT experience equivalent to the level of Care Counselor I with Sonoma County may be substituted for 30 semester units of coursework); AND; one year of FT experience at the level of Care Counselor II with Sonoma County.
