Description:

This class is the first line supervisor responsible for an assigned team of Planners. Employees in this classification supervise, plan and direct the day to day activities of a team of professional Planners in the Resource Management Agency, under general direction.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance good planning techniques with practical planning and meeting deadlines. RMA-Planning is the lead county agency for environmental review. This Supervising Planner position will be assigned to current planning to help manage preparation of environmental documents, mitigation monitoring and reporting/condition compliance, and general project management.

Examples of Experience/Education/Training:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying, unless otherwise specified. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Three (3) years of performing the duties of a professional land use planner in a lead worker capacity.
AND

Education: Successful completion of course work leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in planning, architecture or a closely related field, in which planning courses were included as part of the curriculum.

Highly Desirable: Certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners and possess of AICP certification.
