Description:

The County of Calaveras Transit Division of the Public Works Department is seeking a Transit Manager that will be a champion for public transit in our community. The anticipated start date for this position is early September.

We are looking for candidates that have the ability to take care of every aspect of transit. Candidates with a passion or aptitude for transit, strong verbal and written communication skills, interested in politics or legislation and/or have knowledge of grant programs and process are encouraged to apply. The incumbent will, under limited supervision, manage, direct and coordinate the operation, maintenance and promotion of the public transportation system to provide efficient, accessible, and safe public transportation services to the community.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college/university with a four year degree (or higher) in public or business administration, transit or transportation management, or related field and three to five years of progressively responsible, professional public sector experience involving public transit systems.
