Description:

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works has an immediate opening for the position of Transportation Division Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a transportation vision for the unincorporated areas of the County in planning, transit, operations & maintenance, and project implementation as we serve the various communities. The position oversees a staff of 67 operating in the following Units:

• Road Maintenance
• Traffic Operations & Transportation Planning
• Transportation Programs
• Capital Projects

The position works closely with Development Services and County Planning on implementing the County General Plan as well as developing/maintaining mitigation fee programs to address transportation impacts of new development. Works collaboratively with Regional Planning Agency and Caltrans in planning, programming and implementing projects.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.) In addition, four years of increasingly responsible professional-level experience performing a variety of administrative or fiscal activities — two years of the required experience must be in a supervisory position
