Description:

The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for Transportation Planner.

We currently have the following vacancy:
One (1) Full Time vacancy for the Transportation Department located in Placerville, CA.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of difficult to complex traffic engineering & transportation planning work; provides project coordination, direction, and review for other staff. Works closely with the Traffic Engineer and/or others to formulate, organize, & implement various traffic engineering and transportation planning related functions.

Qualifications:

Equiv to grad from a 4-year college or univ w/ maj course work in traffic engineering, transportation planning, civil engineering, urban or regional planning, or a closely- related field. -&- 3 years of journey level prof exp in traffic engineering, transportation planning, civil engineering, urban or regional planning, or a closely-related field. Desirable work exp includes exposure to fieldwork, traffic operations analysis (e.g. HCS, Synchro, CUBE,VISSIM) & GIS.

Must possess & maintain a valid California driver’s license. Possession of a certification as an (AICP) or (EIT) is highly desirable. Must be willing to attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
