Salary: 

$21.26-$25.62 Hourly, plus benefits

Description:

The Veteran Service Officer plans, organizes, coordinates, administers and provides a program of Veterans’ services and benefits, and counsels and advises Veterans and dependents on their benefits. Advises and assists Veterans and their dependents to obtain the rights and entitlements provided by law regarding pensions, compensation, insurance, education, hospitalization, and rehabilitation, administers the follow up process to Veterans claims/needs with the Veterans Administration and other resources.

Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, psychology or a related field. Experience: Three years of responsible work experience in counseling or advisory position requiring extensive public contact. Direct experience in a Veteran’s service program is desirable. License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license. Possession of, or ability to obtain accreditation by the California Department of Veteran Affairs within one year of employment. Special Requirement: The Veteran Service Officer must be an honorably discharged Veteran.
