Description:

The Sonoma County Waste Management Agency seeks an exceptional leader with experience formulating long-range goals and developing the effective strategies needed to accomplish them.

Qualifications:

•Finalizing and administering an agreement with Renewable Sonoma to develop a new organic processing facility in Sonoma County
•Developing and executing the necessary policies and programs to achieve the Waste Management Agency’s goal of making Sonoma County Zero Waste by 2030
•Pioneering countywide efforts to significantly reduce the sale and distribution of polystyrene foam products
•Establishing a new residential, single use battery collection program
•Exploring the feasibility of creating a Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Northern Sonoma County
•Overseeing the Agency’s support for CalRecycle’s Mandatory Commercial Organics Recycling program in the areas of outreach, education, monitoring, and reporting
