Description:

The Human Resources Department is recruiting for a Claims Program Supervisor to support the Workers’ Compensation Division. The incumbent will coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the County’s Special Investigation/Fraud unit, which evaluates potential fraud and abuse committed by injured workers, medical service providers, and vendors. Additionally, the Claims Program Supervisor will direct subordinate claims management staff and provide assistance to staff in the performance of the most difficult, complex, and sensitive claims. The incumbent will also research State and federal laws pertaining to workers’ compensation and provide training to staff and new department supervisors throughout the County.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, or a closely related field to the assignment, preferably with specialized coursework directly related to insurance administration, claims adjustment or claims management. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on the basis of 30 semester or 45 quarter units equaling one year of full time experience.)

Experience: Five years of journey level experience, one year of which included experience functioning in a lead or supervisory capacity, in workers’ compensation.
