Registration Now Open for CSAC Annual Meeting
Set for Nov. 29 - Dec. 2 in Palm Springs, Riverside County
Registration is now open for CSAC’s 122nd Annual Meeting, scheduled for November 29 through December 2 in Palm Springs, Riverside County. The conference is being held at the Palm Springs Convention Center and the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel.
The theme for the 2016 Annual Meeting is “The Power of Connection,” spotlighting the leading role California Counties play in connecting with our residents and communities, as well as state and federal government.
Attendees can register online through Nov. 15, but registering before Oct. 14 will save $50.00 off regular advance rates. To register for the conference, click here.
“As diverse as our 58 counties are, we also face many of the same issues and we can all benefit from sharing experiences, solutions and ideas,” said CSAC President Richard Forster. “Our Annual Meeting provides you with the time to network with your peers and learn from each other.”
Workshop topics will run the gamut of issues important to California Counties, including affordable housing, future marijuana regulation, clean water and criminal justice outcomes. Attendees will also have an opportunity to satisfy their mandatory AB 1234 ethics training by taking a two-hour course conducted by the Institute of Local Government, an affiliate organization of CSAC.
CSAC is also putting together a strong lineup of keynote speakers that will soon be unveiled.
The week will kick off with two important events:
The fifth Annual CSAC Innovation Summit is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 29; this year the summit will focus on “Changing Lives, Reforming Offenders and Preventing Recidivism.” The three-hour workshop will discuss evidence-based practices that probation departments are using to be successful with their offender populations, inspirational stories from former offenders who have turned their lives around and what they needed to become productive members of society.
Supervisors-elect can attend the ever-popular CSAC New Supervisors Institute, which starts Monday, Nov. 28, and continues Tuesday morning. This is the first of three sessions of the Institute, which provides incoming supervisors with the tools to hit the road running.
We look forward to seeing you in Palm Springs.
