Cal OES Hosts Free Grants Request For Proposal (RFP) Process Webinar

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), Victim Services and Public Safety (VSPS) Branch, will be hosting a FREE webinar on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. The purpose of the webinar is to provide an overview of the competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process related to state and federally funded programs Cal OES administers. Additionally, the webinar will cover the required components of a Cal OES VSPS grant proposal.

AB 790 (Stone, M) – Identification Cards: Replacement: Reduced Fee.

As Amended April 19, 2017 – Support

Assembly Bill 790 by Assembly Member Mark Stone would, as amended, require that eligible inmates at federal, state, and local detention facilities and eligible patients at Department of State Hospital’s (DSH) facilities qualify for a reduced application fee to obtain a California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) identification card (ID). Identification cards can assist in an individual’s ability to transition back into society and aid in obtaining employment, health benefits, and services. AB 790 passed out of the Assembly Transportation Committee 13-1, passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee 16-0, passed off of the Assembly Floor 66-6, passed out of the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee 13-0 and is set to be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee on July 17, 2017.
