AENR Bill of Interest

May 9, 2019

CSAC has taken an active position on the following bill, which has moved from its house of origin (Senate) to the next house (Assembly).

SB 67 (McGuire): Would allow the California Department of Food and Agriculture to revalidate an expired temporary license for commercial cannabis activity provided that the licensee submitted an application and fees for the same premises. These temporary licenses would only remain valid until the Department issues an annual or provisional license for that same cannabis activity. This bill could impact counties with commercial cultivation cannabis licensees, as the Department of Food and Agriculture is responsible for issuing state cultivation permits.
